An effective treatment for coronavirus Covid19

In 1992, the journal Science named nitric oxide “molecule of the year.” And in1998, UCLA pharmacologist Louis J. Ignarro shared a Nobel Prize in medicine for uncovering nitric oxide’s role as a “signaling molecule in the cardiovascular system.”

In humans, nitric oxide is naturally generated by 60 trillion cells that line our blood vessels, and by some brain cells as well. It helps regulate blood pressure, engulfs invading toxins, prevents platelets in the blood from forming clots, and signals that food has arrived and that sex is at hand.

In 2004, researchers at the University of Leuven in Belgium discovered yet another property of nitric oxide: It killed coronaviruses.The study was published in international journal of infectious diseases

More specifically, it killed the coronavirus that leapt from bats to humans and sparked the 2003 epidemic of severe acute respiratory syndrome, the disease better known as SARS. 

In African green monkey cells that had been infected with the SARS coronavirus, an organic nitric oxide compound cut the virus’s ability to replicate in half.

 A year later, Swedish scientists in another study published in the journal of virology confirmed that finding and found that the higher the dose, the better the gas worked to shut the SARS virus down.

Because SARS is a member of coronavirus family which covid19 belongs to,we expect the same effect of NO over covid19(killing the virus or stopping its replication

Phosphodiesterase type 5 is located primarily in pulmonary artery smooth muscle cells and in the penile circulation. Its main role is to degrade cGMP located in these tissues which leads to generation of NO

Tadalafil, the first once-daily PDE5 inhibitor FDA approved(2009) for the treatment of pulmonary artery hypertension (PAH), has been shown to improve exercise tolerance, pulmonary hemodynamics, and quality of life. The drug is well tolerated and carries with it a favorable side effect profile. 
As PDE5 leads to release of NO, a selective PDE5 inhibitor would have numerous downstream benefits including pulmonary artery vasodilation, decreased pulmonary vascular resistance and ultimately increased cardiac output. Additionally, PDE5 inhibitors may augment right ventricular function though their inhibition of phosphodiesterase 3.

So we have here NO this magic molecule has beneficial effects on our chest treating pathological effects similar to those of Covid19,improving lung perfusion,dilating pulmonary artries,increasing blood flow which improves function and remove toxins,these all lead to improve respiratory function and decrease complications and the need for ventilators&ICU.Inaddition it has antiviral effects stopping replication of coronavirus.

How can we use NO?

Two options:

1- by inhalation and this available in hospitals
2- taking PDE5I by oral route,the best is Tadalafil tab once daily
